Scope

The AgBioData Consortium (Consortium) is committed to protecting the privacy of our members and developing systems that provide a powerful and safe online experience. This Statement of Privacy applies to the Consortium site and governs data collection and usage. By using the Consortium site (https://www.agbiodata.org/) and participating in Consortium events and activities, you consent to the data practices described in this statement.

Collection of your Personal Information

The Consortium collects and stores personally identifiable information, such as your Username; e-mail address; First Name; Last Name; Organization; Database/Projects; Position; City; Country.

There is also information about your computer hardware and software that is automatically collected by AgBioData Consortium. This information can include your IP address, browser type, domain names, access times, and referring website addresses. This information is used by AgBioData Consortium for the operation of the service, to maintain the quality of the service, and to provide general statistics regarding the use of the AgBioData Consortium site.

Please keep in mind that if you directly disclose personally identifiable information or personally sensitive data through any public channel, e.g. webinar,  Slack, or communication forum, this information may be collected and used by others. Note: The Consortium does not read any of your private online communications.

The Consortium is not responsible for the privacy statements or other content on Web sites outside of the Consortium.

The Consortium collects and uses your personal information to operate the Consortium Web site and deliver the services you have requested. The Consortium also uses your personally identifiable information to inform you of other products or services available from the Consortium and its affiliates. The Consortium may also contact information via surveys to conduct research about your opinion of current services or of potential new services that may be offered.

The Consortium does not sell, rent or lease its user lists to third parties. 

The Consortium keeps track of the Web sites and pages our users visit in order to determine which pages are the most popular.
